Galway Triathlon Club are delighted to once again link up wth Sarah Thornton Personal Training for our club charity prom swim in support of worthy local cause Galway Autism Partnership.
Please see below final information with regards to the swim:
Registration for ALL participants takes place at BLACKROCK
from 6.15pm – 6.45pm, all non GTC members must bring Triathlon Ireland Licence. No Licence no Swim!
Wetsuits ARE mandatory.
Long Swim -The 2k swim goes from Blackrock at 7pm – Cut Off- Athletes not past Palmers rock by 7.35pm will be pulled from the swim and not permitted to swim to Grattan.
Short Swim - The 1km swim goes from Palmers Rock at 7.15pm.
We will have a Bag Drop at Blackrock for your dry gear, please bring a reasonable size bag, no suitcases and no plastic bags! You must drop the bag in the van at Blackrock and your gear will be brought to Grattan, It is YOUR responsibility to place your own bag in the van.
Please bring warm clothes and maybe a wooly hat for post swim, although the forecast is good for the evening, you will get cold after the swim.
We suggest that you Car Pool so park one car at Grattan and one at Blackrock as there will be no shuttle to bring people up the prom back to Blackrock after the swim. If not car pooling, we suggest parking in the Prom Car Park and walking before and after the event to swim start/ from swim finish.
Tea/coffee & Pizzas will be provided for all athletes and marshals at Grattan Beach after the swim. Donatios to the charity of €10 will be taken at registration.
