The Annual GTC Prom Swim 2nd Sept

The Annual GTC Prom Swim supported by Sarah Thornton Personal Training takes place on Wednesday 2nd September from Blackrock to Grattan Beach. The annual event will support Galway Autism Partnership this year and is open to all Triathlon Ireland and Swim Ireland members. The event will see swimmers complete the 2km distance from Blackrock Diving Tower to Grattan Beach or the 1km distance from Palmers Rock to Grattan Beach. Entry is a €10 donation payable on the night. This is a perfect opportunity to step up to the 2km distance or indeed try and get an end of season PB before the season draws to a close, although this is not a race all athletes will receive an official time for their swim. 32 Counties Fundraising Cycle raises €22,000 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital

Presenting the Cheque to Mr. Lars Nolke Cardio Thoracic Surgeon from Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital are the members of the 32 Counties Cycle Crew. On the 28th May this year, sixteen hardy athletes from Galway Triathlon Club took on a mammoth task of cycling into every county in Ireland over a 5 day period. The challenge entailed cycling 1,000 kilometres over the June Bank Holiday weekend travelling into one town in every one of the 32 counties. The Challenge was undertaken to build awareness and raise funds for Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin which is now the centre of excellence for the 32 counties.
