Triathlon Chonamara: Race Full!!

Aquathon: Tuesday - See details on site for dates across the entire summer

Swimming: Monday AM - Advanced swimming session Leisureland (March - June) (FULL)

Swimming: Tuesday PM - Intermediate swimming session Leisureland (March - June)

Swimming: Thursday 6:30 p.m. - Sea swim at Blackrock, followed by long slow run

Running: Tuesday - GTC Track sessions start 15th January, 6:30pm sharp at Dangan Track, running weekly until the season end.

Running: Thursday - 7:30 p.m. Long slow distance (11km approx 1hr 10 min) after swim in Blackrock

Cycling: Sunday - West Coast Wheelers - 9 AM Galway Catherdal 3/4 hours (moderate pace)

Cycling: Saturday - West Coast Wheelers - 9 AM Galway Catherdal 2/3 hours (fast)

GTC aquathon series 2008 Race 2

After a bad start to the day, the sun broke through for the biggest race ever of the aquathon series with 29 competitors. Lots of familar faces returned Bairbre back from the US, Tony Mc, Pat Burke and Claire Conway (nee Mullan). Of course lots of new faces and even two people joining the club on the night.

The men's race was won by Alan Mitchell in a super fast 31.34 a full minute faster than last week but still a minute off that record. The women's race was again very competitive wi ....

GTC - Race marshalls for Tri Chonamara 2008

Hi all,

Firstly a huge thanks for offering to give up your time to marshal our club race on July 19th. The race has sold out this year and it promises to be a great race; there has been huge interest and excitement around it.

Please check the table attached for your assigned area and report to the appropriate head marshal on the morning. Those who are required to marshal for parking at registration are asked to be there a little earlier as cars will start arriving around ....

Aquathon series 2008 Race 1

Well, the 2008 GTC aquathon series started with a bang last night with the first two men home Eoghhan considine (30:19) and Alan Mitchell (32:31) beating the existing record of 33:10 by Ray Glynn from 2006. The new course record is 30:19. With better water conditions, the 30 minute barrier is in real danger.

The women's race was equally exciting with 15 seconds splitting first (Chris Burke), second (Kate Meaghar) and third (Eileen Sweeney). I reckon this could be the battle of the se ....

Boston Scientific are holding an open 5km Road Race and Fun Run in aid of Galway Cystic Fibrosis (AAI permit applied for in association with Athenry Athletics Club). Entry is open to the public so invite your running friends.
