TT 1 Results Bushypark - Barna Golf Club

Last night saw the first of the 2010 TT races from Bushypark to Barna Golf Club. While the day was miserable and wet it cleared up just in time to leave the roads dry and visibility good.

The field was reasonably small for the first night but that didn't mean the quality was poor as Kieran Whyte and Miriam Wall layed down the gauntlet for all comers in the series by setting powerful standards that will be tough to beat. Whyte's performance was so strong that he overtook Andrew Parkinson on the long drag up to the Golf Club despite leaving the start gate 1 minute behind him. Parkinson's effort was still good enough for second on the night. The 'Flying Doctor' is the man to beat as we move to the low grounds in Tawain next week

In the Ladies section Pre -race favorite Kristen Raill suffered the misfortune of missing the marshall at the Barna turn which put paid to her hopes of taking the series lead to Tawain. Miriam Wall aboard 'The Pink Lady' showed no mercy to Raill's bad luck as she powered her way up to Barna G.C. to lead the Ladies section after last night. These two will no doubt provide a smashing battle royale over the next 3 nights.

Many thanks to Sarah, Ruth, Kevin and John F for volunteering Mark S and Davey B for helping with the results last night.

The series is still open for entries and hope to see a few more join the fun next week in Maree. Entry is €5 for the series.
