IWS Assistant Swimming Teachers Certificate Course

Dates:        1^st June – 19th June 2010, inclusive

Days:
Theory:      Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7.15 – 9.15pm, except Tuesday 1^st June when there will be an introductory session 5.30pm – 6.00pm and a class after the practical. The venue will be either the hall in Kilcornan or in Clarenbridge village.

Practicals: Tuesdays, 1^st, 8^th and 15^th June : 5.40pm – 7.00pm
                   Thursdays, 3^rd, 10^th, and 17^th June : 6.00pm – 7.00pm
Saturdays, 5^th, 12^th and 19th: 9.15am – 10.15am.
                   (There should be a range of ability in classes, from beginners to advanced improvers. Candidates will teach 3-4 pupils).

Cost:          ¤120 per candidate. This includes registration on courses with IWS, Swimming Teachers’ Manual, Assistant Swim Teacher’s Log Book, Registration as IWS member.

Prerequisites:    Minimum age of 16
Candidates must attend at least 75% of course and do 8 hours poolside practice (there can be no exemption from this condition)
Safety 4 Award of IWS (if candidates have not got this award they will be examined for it in the second week of the course).
