The club’s annual Handicap Aquathon, sponsored this year by John Butler Sports Therapists, will take place in Dangan next Saturday, Sept 5th at 5pm. The format will allocate each competitor a time allowance based on their performances in the Aquathon series during the year allowing each person an equal chance of crossing the line first and claiming the club’s big prize of the year.

In order to quench the inevitable thirst that we will build up racing during the day we will have a post series party later in the evening in Monroe’s Tavern, Dominick Street from 8:30pm.  John Butler the series’ sponsor will be there to present prizes to the series winners, the Handicap winners and special prizes for ‘best placed GTC athletes in Triathlon Chonamara’, Thanks to the large numbers taking part in the series this year the budget will stretch to cover some finger food, however there will be no prizes for boogieing no matter how impressive the display on the night.

All members are invited to come along and use the night as an opportunity to catch up with clubmates, to congratulate the prizewinners and share your tri tales from the summer’s racing. Galway Triathlon Club would like to extend an open invitation to our friends and neighbors in Predator tri club, who hosted a couple of races in the series and who joined us in Dangan on two further occasions to come along and join in the festivities as well.
