Aquathon details have been updated with details of invite races - two to include the Predator triathlon club, hosted by Galway Triathlon Club in Dangan and two invite races where Galway Tri Club will travel to Loughrea.   This is the first time we've teamed up with Predator so it should add some excitement and extra competition to the series.

Please note that the Predator/ Galway Tri Club combined races start at a later time of 7pm to allow for travel time for both clubs.

Galway Triathlon Club are delighted to announce the start of the annual (highly competitive and fiercely fought) aquathon series.

Distance:  750m swim/ 5km run.

14th July  Dangan 6:30pm

21st July 2008 annual handicap race (rescheduled from 2008) Dangan 6:30pm

 28th July Dangan 6:30pm

4th Aug Loughrea 7:00pm (hosted by Predator club)

11th Aug Dangan 7:00pm (hosted by Galway Tri Club)

18th Aug Loughrea 7:00pm (hosted by Predator club)

25th Aug Dangan 7:00pm (hosted by Galway Tri Club)

1st Sept Dangan 6:30pm
 

Sat 5th Sept 2009 annual handicap race Dangan 6:30pm.

 Entry is €10 per head for the entire series, all proceeds will go towards prizes and post race biscuits.

The prizes are determined based upon the entry fund, normally 1st ,2nd 3rd Male & Female, with a single prize for the handicap race.

Series winners are allocated from fastest six times of eight races.  For no-shows (less than six races completed) an arbitrary slow (weighted time) will be added to make up six races for each entrant.

 In the case of bad weather/ unsafe current conditions the aquathon will be replaced with a 5km timed race around pitches in Dangan.

All entrants must be club members with Triathlon Ireland membership for insurance purposes..

2 volunteers required each race for Dangan course (please nominate yourself for a date from the above list on the Web forum).
